Free at last!

As many of you may know, Cecilia has been sleeping on my chest in a baby wearing device for naps for the better part of two years now.  I have recently found a potential way out of this!

Yesterday I took Cecilia off early during a nap so that I could take care of Maisie, and she fell back asleep on the bed!  So I have  a new strategy: get her to sleep on me, then set her down.  Day 1, success!  No babies sleeping on me!

Growth spurt!

Magnolia and Cecilia both must be growing like weeds.  Where Magnolia is eating 2+ ounces of milk every few hours, Cecilia is eating whole bananas and then a wheel of cheese!  They are both eating more than we were ever used to a child of either age eating.  It’s so fun to have two girls going through massive growth spurts at the same time.  Magnolia is now filling out the newborn clothes and Cecilia is finally growing out of her 6 month old pants (but she still wears her 6 month onesies)!  Anyone want to bet on how long it’s going to be until Maisie is giving hand-me-downs to Cecilia?!

First Bath

Maisie Mae got her first bath the other day.  She seemed to be enjoying it.  When we were pouring water over the back of her head she was getting a huge grin on her face.  The only part she did not like was getting out of the water.

After a bath she was quite hungry so we had to prepare a bottle…

First day with two

Well yesterday was my first day, well half day, without Vicki.  I would say that everything went well (other than the fact that Cecilia only slept for like 45 minutes the entire day).  I was able to fold some clothes and eat lunch!  Some may think that those are trivial tasks to be completed in half a day, but when you put a newborn and a 21 month old into the mix, the daily list starts dwindling down very fast.

When we were getting lunch for Maisie, Cecilia was getting into everything that was not locked down.  She was pulling cords out of my desk, shredding paper, trying to climb up my leg, and trying on new hats!

But when we headed downstairs to get lunch for her and me, Maisie slipped into babywearing for the first time.  Cecilia has lived in one for the past 21 months.

Needless to say, once in, Maisie was fast asleep despite the fact that she had just woken up from a nap about 20 minutes before.

Over all the day was a success.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I was also able to schedule Maisie’s first doctors appointment, submit all my paper work for FMLA, return L’s gift (we were sent the wrong thing), and pay for Maisie’s hospital stay!  I would call that a very successful day.
